One believes that Avenue is the Astigis Vetus that appointment Plinio in his writings, since an inscription preserves in that is read "Astirgir ord. D.". In more recent epoch it belonged to the domains of the Marquesses of Steppe, forming then during some time part of the province of Seville. One of the most remembered events is the death of bandit José Maria Hinojosa. His grave in the church of the Town is usually a place that attracts attention to visitors
